Why There Are No More Mozarts

Some kid gets a perfect score and a 3177 note streak. Insanity.
I don’t mean to slam those that play XBOX/Wii/Nintendo. However, I think it proves a point – how many hours a day do kids/teenagers waste on video games? They could be using that time to develop a real useful talent – one that is actually admired by the older generations, rather than despised (why do they gotta hate on our Halo 3?)?
I came across this video the other day on youtube. The point I want to make is this – this kid is RIDICULOUSLY talented. His hand-eye motor skills are probably greater than 99.9% of those his age. He shouldn’t be sitting in front of a flat-panel LCD screen flicking fake guitar buttons. He should be getting trained by the greatest virtuosos that this generation has to offer. There are Mozarts out there – however, the conveniences/entertainment of the 21st century have, in my opinion, helped to hide their talents, rather than helping to develop them.
With this in mind, I must tip my hat to this fine young gentleman – he truly has reached the pinnacle of his career. Oh, and one last thing – just like you wouldn’t walk out during the middle of Beethoven’s 5th Symphony, please give the kid some respect and watch the video til the end – then only will you understand the incredible nature of his talent.
