[Consumerist.com] Not all men are smart: You may remember the story last July about John Maxim that was facing foreclosure and offered to burn his car for donations. He ended up getting $20k in donations and got his story covered by Foreclosure Boys.

So he finally got around to burning the car this month out in Tooele, UT. Apparently he forgot that he’s gotten a lot of press about the whole thing and posted his intentions on his blog. Needless to say, the BLM showed up and wrote him a $2500 fine. He even admits he expected to get caught.
